Video Production training for young filmmakers

Watch the latest video from our Young Roots Filmmakers!

For just over a year now, we’ve been working on a great project called Young Roots, which is run by one of our clients- Chiltern Rangers. The idea of the project is to get young people doing important conservation work in their local community, while learning valuable new skills such as art, D.I.Y and media.

As part of the project we work with a group of young volunteers and teach them some video and photography skills. These young people then get the chance to put this into practise by filming the day’s events and creating some video content that promotes the project. We’ve had a great time getting to know the young volunteers and experiencing their enthusiasm for digital media.

We also think they’ve produced some great content and wanted to share an example of their work. The video, above, was filmed and edited by 6 young people in our class at the latest Young Roots session.. The video also demonstrates that not all of your video content needs to be professionally produced. A successful video marketing strategy requires consistency. So by creating some of the video content yourself you not only remain consistent, but you’re adding a unique authenticity to your marketing.
