High Wycombe boxer lands hit documentary with HighWay

Max Smith reviews “Ben Smith: Round One”

Earlier this year we produced a documentary for a professional boxer called Ben Smith. If you haven’t seen it you can watch it here. The idea behind the project was to help raise Ben’s profile and eventually increase his fan base. A few months on and we were really keen to follow up with Ben’s Dad, Max Smith, to see just how the documentary has helped their promotional campaign. Watch the video above to find out what he had to say.

So, how did the video do?

Before the documentary came out, a trailer was uploaded onto Ben’s social media pages to build anticipation. The trailer received 908 views and 225 likes.

A second trailer was produced to drive traffic to watch the full documentary once it was released. The second trailer accumulated 8.2k views, 110 likes and 65 shares. Which meant that the documentary received 688 views in it’s first week!

Ben also received retweets and positive feedback on Twitter from some of his followers, including retired WBC Silver Lightweight Champion Kevin Mithchell.

How did the video help Ben?

Max tells us how important it is in sports to gain interest on a national and local level, and that’s why video marketing is vital. He then goes on to say:

” Having a documentary released that all can see, has been critical to his (Ben’s) path.”

As a result of the documentary Ben’s profile has increased and he is selling more tickets to his fights.
